The Last Guardian Delayed

The Last Guardian Delayed

While it’s been a long wait for The Last Guardian thus far, it looks like we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to get our hands on this title. The good news is that it isn’t too long of a wait. Instead of the original release date of October 25, TLG will launch December 6.

According to Shuhei Yoshida on the Playstation Blog, “The Last Guardian development team is fast approaching major milestones in production and has made the tough decision to delay the release of The Last Guardian a few weeks”.

The reason for the delay sounds similar to that of Final Fantasy XV, wanting to fully polish the game before release which is understandable. Yoshida added that:

You can’t say you wouldn’t want one as a pet.

Fumito Ueda, gen DESIGN and JAPAN Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian’s touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long. A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.

With the game originally shown in 2009 as a PS3 title, we can wait two more months for a polished title.
