After numerous years of rumors and speculation, fans of the Mafia series will finally get to see the next installment in the franchise when Mafia 3 is unveiled at Gamescom next week.

While no information is known about the upcoming project, the first-ever trailer for Mafia 3 will be shown on August 5th during Gamescom in Germany. It has been 5 years since the launch of Mafia 2 in 2011, which was developed by 2K Czech. Based on what the Mafia 3 website shows, a new team called Hangar 13 is working on the development of this long-awaited title. Hangar 13 is led by former LucasArts game studio developer Haden Blackman, who has worked on games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Gamescom is being held in Cologne, Germany between August 5th and August 9th. Mafia 3 will be officially showcased at 8 a.m. August 5th and we will have the trailer posted here as soon as it’s released.
