While we know very little about Kojima’s mysterious Death Stranding, some light has been shed on the title thanks to TGS.
According to Kojima, Death Stranding will release before the 2020 Olympics, and “it will be out before the year in which Akira is set”. With Akira being set in 2019 concur that we will see the release somewhere between 2017-2018. While the news of the release date is rather broad, Kojima did elaborate on more than just a release date.
While Kojima gave us an idea of a release date, it’s very wide gap of when it could release. He did give some information on a second character in the game. This character will be a female protagonist that will join Norman Reedus. Whether the game will contain numerous playable characters, or if this female protagonist will be an npc has yet to be said.
Death Stranding will run on a third-party engine, that is well-known *cough* Fox-Engine*cough*, and have mulitplayer that is a “different kind of online play than anything we’ve seen before”.
