With the re-release of the Resident Evil Remake in January, it has been speculated that a remake for the second game in the franchise was in the works.  Resident Evil 2 was first released back in January 1998 for the Playstation and later on for the Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, and PC. Though the title received a “remake” for GameCube a while back, it was only a port. The remake was considered back in 2002, but according to Jun Takeuchi, Resident Evil 5 producer, it was put off to prevent any delay of Resident Evil 4. In recent weeks, Capcom asked fans on the Resident Evil Facebook page about their thoughts on a remake for Resident Evil 2 and it now seems that the feedback was positive enough to warrant an actual game.
