Platinum Games’ new title Scalebound, an Xbox One & PC exclusive, has officially been cancelled.

Originally shown at E3 2014, Scalebound was designed to be an RPG game with heavy emphasis on teaming with dragons to succeed. Since then, Scalebound has seldom been mentioned by Microsoft. The game looked to present a single player experience, that also offered online co-op as well.

The game was slated for a 2016 release, but was pushed back until 2017. This wasn’t a massive red flag as a few other notable Microsoft exclusives were also pushed back until 2017 (Crackdown 2 and Halo Wars 2). Unfortunately, absence from Xbox Wire’s blog post for upcoming games in 2017 marked a rather unsettling turn for the game.
