Top Xbox Games We Can’t Wait for in 2019

Whether you’re a die-hard Xbox gamer, or not, we can all agree that the system has been going through some tough times in terms of providing great exclusives this gen; it seems like Microsoft has been focusing on other things. This isn’t to say that the Xbox One has been a failure, however compared to past systems it’s been lacking in successful first party titles. That’s why we’re excited to see what Microsoft has to offer for 2019!

Cuphead “The Delicious Last Course”

Quite possibly the most popular Xbox One exclusive, Cuphead offers whimsical fun side-scrolling gameplay with the difficulty level that will bring you to tears. Now Cuphead and Mugman continue their adventures with the addition of Ms. Chalice! While it may only be an expansion, the cleverly name Delicious Last Course (dlc) claims to offer a slew of new content that has us more than excited for it’s 2019 release.

Crackdown 3

Almost 9 years since the release of the second game, Crackdown 3’s release date seemed imaginary considering that it was originally announced back at E3 2014. After falling victim to numerous delays, 2019 seems to be the year; with a February release at that. There’s nothing we’ve been more excited to do than build up our super powered agents to take down some kingpins. Add in the addition of multiplayer, destructible environments, and Terry Crews, February can’t come soon enough!

Session

While both the Pro Skater, and Skate series have ended, Session may be the game that reignites the popularity in skating games. Inspired by the golden era of skating, Session changes the formal from the aforementioned skating titles. Instead of focusing on earning the most points, or collecting floating letters across the map, it’s all about cool tricks and posting those videos onto social media.

Battletoads

I’m not saying that years of calling Gamestop paid off, however a new Battletoads is coming to Xbox One. While the details are scarce, we do know that the game will offer three players co-op, it will be just as difficult as prior Battletoads titles, and the body morphing toads will return; so the insanely large fists will make their triumphant comeback. While it is slated for a 2019 release, we wouldn’t be surprised if it gets delayed with how little details have been released thus far.

Gears of War 5

Arguably Xbox’s most successful series, the Gears series will return in 2019 with a 5th installment to the story (6th if you include Judgement). Gears of War 5 looks to continue the story, this time focusing on uncovering the origins of the Locust as well as learning about Kait Diaz’s family. With that being said, it’s no surprise that JD Fenix will be replaced by Kait as the protagonist in this installment. Aside from the story, who doesn’t love chainsawing others in multiplayer?

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Easily one of our most anticipated titles of 2019 for the Xbox One has to be Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Now you may be asking why this is our most anticipated game for Xbox in 2019, and there’s a few reasons. The soon to be Ori series is a brilliantly gorgeous game that not only provides a fun metroidvania style game with an immaculate presentation, but originated on the Xbox One as well. With the Xbox One failing to create many successful new IP’s this gen, Ori and the Will of the Wisps (alongside titles such as Cuphead) show that Microsoft’s console still has some fight in it; and could make 2019 it’s big year.
