With Mafia 3’s release tomorrow, some rather unsettling news has been released about the PC version of the game. If you are looking to play the game at 60fps, you will have to wait for a future patch. At launch Mafia 3 is capped at 30FPS, which is quite upsetting to players with higher end systems looking to max out the game.
According to the Mafia website : “We know how important having options that best suit your PC’s performance capabilities are. The team has been hard at work ensuring that Mafia III’s performance is consistent across all platforms, and right now the game runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second”.
“We are currently working on an update for PC that will give players the option to play Mafia III at higher framerates,” the message continues. “We’ll share more details about the update, and when you can expect it to arrive, very soon.”
PCGamer has noted that even lowering the setting does nothing to raise the FPS. Though the patch has no official time-frame, we expect that it will come soon after launch. Stay tuned for our review of Mafia 3 in the coming days.
