Metal Gear Solid 5 PC System Requirements Unveiled

PC gamers eagerly anticipating the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain received two great pieces of news throughout the day. First, Metal Gear Solid V’s release date on PC has been moved up to match the release of the console versions on September 1st. Those also left wondering whether or not their PC rig can handle Metal Gear Solid V also got major news today.

Metal Gear Solid community manager Robert Peeler posted the system requirements, both minimum and recommended, on the Steam forums just a few hours ago. The most important pieces of information to take away include the need for an i5-processor, as well as a DirectX-11 compatible GPU. Metal Gear Solid V will also require 28GB of free hard drive space.

OS: Windows 7×64, Windows 8×64 (64-bit OS Required)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better (DirectX 11 card Required)
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM

Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card (Surround Sound 5.1)

Steam users who pre-order Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will also receive numerous bonuses including a free copy of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Also included as pre-order bonuses are behind-the-scenes footage, a documentary, and various in-game items. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches September 1st for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
