Nintendo adding paid DLC to the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 3 comes as a surprise to many.

With the release of the third installment of the Luigi’s Mansion series slated for next month, Nintendo has started to unveil new details regarding the games future. These new details revolve around the title’s online ScareScraper and ScreamPark modes. According to the Nintendo page for Luigi’s Mansion 3, the game will offer “Paid DLC… adding new content to the ScareScraper and ScreamPark multiplayer modes”. There aren’t any details on what the DLC will offer, however we expect that it will serve for cosmetic purposes only. Make sure to check back as we learn more about the DLC for Luigi’s Mansion 3 which is set to release October 31, 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.

For those who aren’t familiar ScareScraper is a returning mode from Luigi’s Mansion 2 that has players working together to clear challenging floors before time runs out. ScreamPark on the otherhand, is a competitive mode that tasks two teams of four players to compete to suck up the most ghosts, and collect the most coins before the time runs out.
