We expected a lot to be shown for Resident Evil 8, but we ended up getting even more!

Capcom’s made a strong showcase for the Resident Evil franchise during the Resident Evil 8 showcase yesterday. Originally thought to be focused on the upcoming Resident Evil 8 Village, the stream showcased everything from crossovers, the Netflix series, new game modes, and even a VR game which will all be releasing in the coming months! Here’s a breakdown of everything from the event!

Resident Evil Village – 4th Trailer

How far would you go to save someone you love? After having everything taken from him, Ethan Winters is not only fighting for survival, but fighting to find his kidnapped daughter. Resident Evil Village comes to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia on May 7th, 20201.

Demo Announcements

Resident Evil 8 will get additional demos before the release, with Playstation getting the early access. Starting tomorrow at 5PM pdt, players will have 8 hours to complete the Village Demo. Similarly, players will have another 8 hours to complete the Castle Demo which starts April 24th at 5PM pdt. If you are playing on other consoles, or miss those dates the first time, the demos will be available for 24 hours on May 1st for all systems. 

 The Mercenaries

The fan-favorite, battle-the-clock extra game mode, “The Mercenaries,” makes its return with new features. Now players have the option to buy and upgrade weapons from The Duke, and acquire abilities that enhance weapons and physical capabilities to offer more depth and replay value.

Resident Evil

In broader entertainment, a new trailer for Netflix’s RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness anime series made its debut. The world of Resident Evil that intertwines horror, action, and suspense is presented with beautiful and realistic visuals in this brand-new entertainment epic on a unprecedented scale! Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness releases worldwide in July 2021, only on Netflix.

Resident Evil x Dead By Daylight Crossover

Resident Evil 4 Oculus Quest 2

The Resident Evil franchise is celebrating 25 years of survival horror this year, and the festivities continued with several announcements in today’s Resident Evil Showcase. One of the most revered games in the industry gets a whole new perspective as Capcom confirmed Resident Evil™ 4 will be available later this year on Oculus Quest 2, the next generation of all-in-one VR.
